Job
prospects for migrants are still gloomy, but there is some good news in the
Information Technology field.
Scott
Robertson of Highstreet
Recruitment reports a noticeable increase in demand for Information
Technology skills over the past few weeks.
Because of the downturn in the economy we have been cancelling
recruitment trips to South Africa since September 2008, but Scott says that he
is strongly considering resuming his recruitment trips during the second half
of this year. Click here

with employment related enquiries.
Unfortunately
the same cannot be said for trade skills, the field of Ryno Nienaber of Calvest Recruitment. The overall unemployment rate for the
December 2009 quarter has risen to 7.3 per cent, the highest in ten years. While there are jobs being advertised for
trades people, migrants find it hard to compete for these jobs, because of the
supply available in New Zealand (many thousands of Kiwis have returned from
overseas following the worldwide crisis), and the fact that it is more
difficult to obtain work permits for trades people since many trade occupations
have been removed from the skills shortages list. As a result, Ryno reports reluctance on the
part of employers to look at CVs of migrants (a problem that we have not
experienced with positions for trades people before the economic
downturn). Ryno is not planning a
recruitment trip to South Africa in the near future, but he is still interested
in seeing CVs of people with specialized skills, particularly in the mining
industry, so you are still welcome to contact him directly.
Important notice: We will only rejoin
the immigration industry once this situation improves. Please note that we do not provide any form
of immigration advice at this stage, because we have not applied for licensing
with the authorities.
Our Company
Since 1994 Newcor Immigration Services have been providing a comprehensive
service to assist migrants with the process of emigrating to New Zealand.
Emigrating successfully, with the least possible
amount of trauma, requires a series of well planned steps. Obtaining permanent
residence in New Zealand is only a single facet of the emigration process.
Without professional assistance and guidance, the process can become traumatic,
lengthy and expensive. Many migrants have arrived in New Zealand in the past,
only to find out that complications in the New Zealand Immigration Regulations
cause a lengthy delay or even make it impossible to obtain permanent residence,
despite scoring enough points to qualify for residence. These delays are quite
costly, since even with an offer of employment, it is not possible to start
employment before the New Zealand government is satisfied that all the criteria
have been met.
Since our inception we have built a reputation as a
company with integrity that provide a professional and honest service and that
we have empathy with our clients in terms of the difficulties frequently
involved in the immigration process. Our main objective is to make the
emigration process as smooth and seamless as possible for our clients. Our team
has a thorough knowledge of the New Zealand immigration regulations and the New
Zealand job market, as well as the regulations, procedures and other actions
necessary to leave your home country.
Newcor Immigration Services are dedicated and
qualified to provide you with the best possible service to ensure successful
application for residence and settling in New Zealand. Our fees are covered by
a money-back guarantee and therefore will not take on a case if we are not of
the opinion that we will succeed. Except for a small initial fee to cover
expenses, we work strictly on the basis of "no results, no pay".
