How to book
a personal interview:
Before booking
a personal interview for recruitment purposes, please take note of these
important remarks:
- To avoid disappointment, please
make sure about the minimum requirements to
qualify for residence in New Zealand.
Please note that it is not a prerequisite to hold a qualification
like a three year diploma or degree anymore. Although such qualifications are worth
extra points, people with IT skills will normally qualify for bonus points
in an identified future growth area.
- Please note that the purpose of Scott’s
visit is not to arrange employment before travelling to New Zealand -
although this is sometimes possible, very few Kiwi employers are willing
to make an offer of employment before you have arrived in New Zealand. In most cases, Scott's purpose will be
to have a talk to you to enable him to be in a better position to market
you in New Zealand to set up interviews once you have arrived.
- Traveling to New Zealand with the
purpose of securing a position, and then returning to your home country
for a month or two to resign, will in many cases greatly reduce your
chances of finding a position. We realize that it is easy for us to tell
you to take the leap of faith, because there are uncertainties involved
for you, and you have a lot of things to wind up before leaving. While it
is not impossible at all to secure employment and then return home to wind
up your personal matters, our statistics tell us that it is simply better
to be ready to take up employment immediately once the offer of employment
has been secured.
- We strongly advise that you do
not travel to New Zealand for the job search process before all
documentation to apply for a work permit and permanent residence is 100%
ready, otherwise one might experience lengthy delays in the application
process. We can be of assistance in this regard. Contact us to assist with the process of getting your
paperwork in order.
- High Street IT is planning to
undertake these recruitment drives on a regular basis. Because of the
large number of enquiries, they have to be a bit selective in terms of the
people that they interview: at this stage, they would only like to set up
personal interviews for recruitment purposes with people that are at least
seriously considering to travel to New Zealand within six months following
the seminar. They are not looking for a definite commitment that you will
definitely be traveling to New Zealand, but if you are still at the stage
of enquiring and gathering information, we strongly suggest that you
attend the seminar only, but do not yet book a personal interview. You
will get valuable information at the seminar, and you may then contact us
for a personal interview for their next trip.
- As a first step, contact us to
book your seat for the seminar, or email us your CV. Together with the CV,
also let us know how far you are in the process of deciding to travel to
New Zealand.
- The next step is to get an
opinion from Scott on employability in your specific case, which we will
communicate back to you. This will be a very honest opinion. We select our associates based on the
fact that they are well established and that they have a proven track
record in assisting our clients to find employment.
- The next step is to set up a
personal interview with Scott during his visit. After this interview, he will give a
final opinion on your chances of finding employment.
- In a case of a positive verdict,
it is now time to get your paperwork ready before traveling to New Zealand.
It might involve a qualification assessment, or application for
professional registration and it will in most cases involve the
preparation of documentation for an application for permanent residence
and a work permit. We will explain to you the procedure and cost involved
in your specific case, and then it is up to you to decide on whether you
would like to proceed.
·
It
is not advisable to travel to New Zealand for interviews during December or
middle January. We suggest that you
travel during October or earlier, or else postpone your trip to at least middle
January.
So, what is the next step?
Contact us
to make a booking for the seminar or (taking into account
the remarks above) please send us your CV, so that we can determine whether it
would be possible to arrange an interview.
