We hold regular information seminars. These seminars are free of charge and are
about two hours in duration.
The
following topics are covered on the seminar:
- Immigration Categories:
We discuss the different immigration categories in detail. Specifically,
the new Skilled Migrant Category, or "points system" is
explained in full, so that you can calculate for yourself whether you will
be able to qualify for residence.
- Registration and other
requirements:
If you score enough points, but if you are in a job category that requires
registration with a professional body in New Zealand, you will in most
cases still not be eligible for permanent residence before you do not have
full registration with the appropriate board in New Zealand. This topic is
also covered in detail on the seminar.
- The process:
- The duration and complexity of
the process will depend on the number of points you score, whether you
need registration with a board in New Zealand, whether you will need an
offer of employment, and other factors. We explain the different
scenarios in detail, so that you can form an opinion on the complexity
and likely time frame in your specific case.
- We also supply
information on other issues that needs to be dealt with before leaving
your home country, e.g. furniture removal and life insurance policies.
- New Zealand: An Overview
A general overview on New Zealand, including housing, schooling, climate,
health care, the economy and cost of living.
- Job prospects in New Zealand
The job market in New Zealand, including information on job prospects,
positions available in different occupations, and the procedure necessary
to follow to obtain employment in different job categories.
