For the purpose of obtaining permanent residence and settling in New Zealand, we normally follow the procedure below:

  • The first step is to determine whether you qualify for permanent residence. This is done by means of information seminars and personal interviews at no charge. If you are not able to attend a seminar or a personal interview, we will do the initial assessment via a questionnaire. During the initial assessment we will inform you about your chances of qualifying for residence, the complexity of your application, likely time frames in your case, your employability in New Zealand and the total cost involved. If you qualify for residence in New Zealand the following scenarios may be possible:

    • You may qualify for permanent residence outright and may apply for residence (Family or Investor Category), or you may qualify to submit an Expression of Interest to apply for residence in the Skilled Migrant Category, or to apply for a Long Term Business Visa, possibly leading to application for permanent residence later in the Entrepreneur Category.
    • You may need to have your qualifications assessed first. We will advise you on whether this will be necessary in your case. If an assessment is necessary, we will prepare and lodge the application for assessment on your behalf in a proper and well-documented manner to ensure the most favorable assessment possible.
    • You may need an offer of employment before being eligible to qualify for permanent residence. In this regard we will be able to assist with finding employment, depending on your employability in New Zealand. We are not recruitment agents and we do not promise to find you a job as part of our service, but we work in association with reputable recruitment agents.
    • You may need to register with a professional board in New Zealand even before being eligible to apply for residence. We will handle the registration process on your behalf. This process on its own is frequently complicated, requiring multiple documents and procedures.
    • In some cases a temporary work visa or permit will be necessary in order to start employment while waiting for the permanent residence process to be completed. It will not always be possible to arrange a temporary work visa in all situations. We will therefore advise you on the likelihood of success in your case, prepare the necessary documentation and apply for the work visa or permit on your behalf.
